The background

What Happened to Poolin Wallet?

Poolin Wallet logo

Poolin was founded in China in 2017 and became one of the world’s largest Bitcoin mining pools. Through PoolinWallet, users stored mined coins and earned interest of roughly 2% to 8.8% a year.

In September 2022, Poolin suspended withdrawals from Poolin Wallet and Pool Account, citing a liquidity crisis. On 15 September 2022, balances were replaced 1:1 with IOU tokens for BTC, ETH, USDT, LTC, ZEC and DOGE. The IOUs were never fully repaid.

On 22 July 2026, Poolin Technology Pte. Ltd. and two U.S. affiliates, Lonestar Dream Inc. and Lonestar Taproot LLC, filed for Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey (Case No. 26-18325). The company lists about $163.7 million in IOUs owed to Poolin Wallet holders, out of roughly $173.1 million in total obligations. Around 11,700 holders have balances above $100.

In October 2026, the court approved the sale of Poolin’s Texas mining sites to Hut 8 for up to $180 million: $100 million at closing and up to $80 million in milestone payments. The opening bid in July was $52 million.

How much IOU holders will recover, and when, is not yet known. It depends on how sale proceeds are shared between the debtors, on liens and costs of the case, and on the claims process.

Frequently asked

Questions before selling your Poolin claim

Are my Poolin IOU tokens still worth anything?

Your IOU tokens, including IOUBTC, represent a claim against Poolin in its Chapter 11 case. In October 2026, the court approved the sale of Poolin’s Texas sites to Hut 8 for up to $180 million. How much IOU holders will receive, and when, is not yet known. We can review your Poolin Wallet claim and give you a free quote.

Can I sell my Poolin claim if I live in China?

Yes. We work with creditors in mainland China and other restricted jurisdictions, as we did in the FTX case. We agree the payment method with you: crypto, stablecoins or payment processing.

Do I need to file a proof of claim?

The official case overview reviewed for our 6 October 2026 update does not list a general claims deadline. If you sell your claim to Paxtibi, we handle the claim process for the purchased portion from then on. Until the transfer is complete, continue to follow any notices and deadlines that apply to you. Official notices are published by the claims agent, Verita Global, at veritaglobal.net/poolin.

How do I sell my Poolin claim?

Send us your Poolin account email and approximate total claim value through the form. We review the claim and send a quote within 24 hours. If you accept within the offer’s 48-hour validity period, we complete KYC, the assignment contract and payment.

Do I need to pay anything upfront?

No. The quote is free, and we do not charge a separate fee: the price we quote is what you receive.

How is the price for my claim determined?

By claim size, IOU token types, claim status, your jurisdiction and KYC status. We review claims with a value of at least $100.

Can I sell only part of a large claim?

Yes. You can sell part of your claim for cash now and keep the rest of your recovery.

I don’t have all my records. What should I send?

Send what you have: your Poolin account email and the IOU token types and amounts you know. If you have screenshots of your balance or IOU tokens, mention them in your message; we will explain how to provide them and whether anything else is needed.

Is selling my Poolin claim safe and legal?

Bankruptcy claims can generally be transferred under U.S. bankruptcy procedures using claim-assignment documentation. A sale depends on the claim facts, applicable restrictions, KYC and due diligence. Review the assignment terms before signing.

How do I know I’m dealing with Paxtibi and not a scammer?

Our only website is paxtibi.xyz, and our company number is OC449662. We never ask for private keys, seed phrases, passwords or upfront payments. See “How to Verify You Are Dealing with Paxtibi” above, or contact us through the form on this page.
