FTX distribution schedule: every record date and payout so far

*Convenience claims receive approximately 120% once. Later rounds cover eligible holders who had not already received that payment; they do not add another 120% to previously paid claims. FTX’s explanation of subsequent Convenience payments.

Figures follow FTX’s rounded announcements. Its third-round release states 40% for Class 5B, although its published cumulative totals do not reconcile exactly with the rounded individual payments. The table retains the officially stated percentage. FTX third-round notice.

Allowed USD claims use November 2022 prices, not today’s crypto value. Individual receipts depend on eligibility.

Three patterns in the timing

Record date → payout: 45–49 days, in all five rounds. Announcement → record date: 21–52 days, including 52 days for the 2nd round (announced 18 February 2025). Payout gaps ranged from 101 to 182 days, roughly 3½–6 months. These patterns are not deadlines.

Our estimate for the 6th distribution

Base case (6-month gap): record date around mid-December 2026, payout around late January 2027.

A six-month gap from 31 July points to late January 2027. Counting back 45–49 days places the record date around mid-December 2026. This is our working estimate, not an FTX commitment.

Earlier case: payout before year-end

A strict four-month gap means late November, requiring a mid-October record date. With no announcement yet, that looks unlikely. An October announcement followed by a November record date could instead support a December payout, roughly five months after July.

What would move the date

Reserve reductions, claim reconciliation, asset sales and court approvals affect timing. No announcement by mid-October points toward November or later for the record date, assuming previous notice periods repeat.

How FTX funds each new round

The disputed claims reserve

The FTX disputed claims reserve holds money for unresolved claims. As disputes settle, less may need to stay reserved. A July 2025 reduction took it from $6.5B to $4.3B; the May 2026 proposal sought $2.4B to $1.8B, freeing another $600M if approved.

The signal to watch

Watch for reserve-reduction motions and related omnibus hearings on Kroll. Previous reserve announcements accompanied record dates. A motion signals progress, but does not guarantee approval or an immediate payout.

How much could the 6th distribution pay?

FTX has not said. The fifth round allocated approximately $900M, adding 3%–9% for Classes 5A, 5B, 6A and 6B. The next amount depends on available cash, reserve releases and eligible claims.

How to make sure you receive the next round

Before the record date: KYC, tax forms, Step 8

  • Confirm your claim is allowed and correctly registered.
  • Complete KYC and required sanctions screening.
  • Submit valid tax forms in Step 7.
  • Complete Step 8 onboarding with BitGo, Kraken or Payoneer.

Restricted jurisdictions and the 6-month onboarding deadline

FTX’s October list has 44 restricted jurisdictions whose residents cannot select a provider. Its dashboard FAQ warns that missing onboarding within six months of 31 July 2026 (around 31 January 2027) may forfeit distribution rights. Earlier claim-specific deadlines can apply. See claims payment processing.

Selling your claim before the next record date

The 21-day rule

FTX pays a transferee registered at the record date only after the 21-day notice period expires without objection. Rule 3001 counts from notice service, so filing exactly 21 days before may leave insufficient time.

What that means in practice

For a mid-December record date, aim to file by late November or earlier, allowing for service and processing. Later trades may exclude the next payment depending on the sale agreement. Sell your FTX claim to discuss an offer and transfer timing.

FAQ

When is the next FTX distribution?

As of 13 October 2026, FTX has not announced the 6th distribution. Our estimate is a mid-December 2026 record date and a late-January 2027 payout, not an official schedule.

What is the FTX record date and why does it matter?

It determines eligible holders for a round. Allowed claims must meet registration, KYC, tax and provider-onboarding requirements. The fifth round used 16 June 2026; the next cut-off remains unannounced.

How much has FTX paid so far by class?

After 31 July 2026, cumulative scheduled recoveries are 105% for Classes 5A and 5B, 103% for Classes 6A and 6B, and 120% for Class 7, measured against allowed USD claims.

Why didn't I receive the 5th distribution?

Missing KYC, tax forms or Step 8 by 16 June 2026 can explain a missed payment. Disputed claims and jurisdiction restrictions also matter. Check your portal and notices; completing onboarding does not guarantee payment.

Can I still sell my FTX claim before the next distribution?

Yes, subject to eligibility and transfer timing. The buyer must be registered by the record date after the 21-day objection period has expired without objection. Allow additional time for filing and notice service.

What was the record date of the first FTX distribution?

The record date of the first FTX distribution was 3 January 2025. About $454 million was paid to holders of allowed Convenience claims starting 18 February 2025.
